Michael
W. Wright is the President of Michael Wright & Associates, Inc., a Maui-based
firm founded in 1997, specializing in Project and Construction Management. Mr.
Wright was educated at California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo
and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management. Michael
Wright began his professional construction career in 1985 with Fletcher Pacific
Construction Company on the island of Oahu. For the first seven years of his career,
Mr. Wright worked for Fletcher Pacific Construction Company and Hawaiian Dredging
& Construction Company constructing "destination"
resorts and luxury condominiums, including the Hyatt Regency Waikoloa, The Hyatt
Regency Kauai and The Pointe at Poipu. In 1992 Mr. Wright assumed responsibility
as Project Manager for Alexander & Baldwin Properties, Inc. on the island
of Kauai. He managed the development and construction of multiple projects within
the Alexander & Baldwin Kukui'ula Developmenht onf Kauai's
south shore. In 1994, Wright transferred to A&B Properties Inc. on Maui to
establish the Construction Management Division for the island. He continued project
management for various civil, industrial, multi-family residential, commercial
retail centers, and residential and agricultural subdivision project. In
1996, Mr. Wright joined Ronald M. Knoll Consulting Group as Project Manager for
the island of Maui. He provided full service construction management for various
developers including Maui's first "power retail center",
The Maui Marketplace. Mr. Wright is experienced in all aspects of construction
management including entitlement work, permitting, estimating, bidding, value
engineering, contract administration, scheduling, subcontractor coordination,
field supervision, and quality control.
Mr. Wright served on the Board
of Directors for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Maui for seven years and
managed the development and construction of the Mercer Chubby Vicens Mentoring
Center in Wailuku, Maui. Mr. Wright served on the Board of Director's
for the Hui No'eau Visual Arts Center's Capital Campaign
and Building and Grounds Committee and provided construction and project management
for the Children's Center.
